Free Pictures for Kids to Color

Welcome to my blog! Welcome to Spring!

The gang and I are so happy to see the weather warming up and signs of spring appearing all around our town. Daffodils, tulips, robins, and...yes folks...KITTENS...will soon be easy to see.

Christmas and Valentine's Day are long past. Now Easter is coming up. Before Eastertime, I will post a special excerpt from my book, The Life and Times of Mister, for you to read.

But first... do you or your kids like to color? Here are two coloring sheets just for you. One is the same picture that's on the cover of my book: Mister and the Gang. The other one is of the farm where I was born. Here is what I wrote in my book:

"Living on this huge farm with lots of places to play made it a fun place to be a kitten. With its many animals and two huge pons, one that was full of frongs, I had all the playmates I could ever want."

These sheets will print out on a standard 8.5 x 11 piece of paper on your home printer. To make a work of art that can last even longer, print it out on heavyweight paper, available at any office supply store. You can be an artist too and "color my world"!

Speaking of artists---Melody Lamb is one of my favorite artists (click on her name to visit her ebay store). She does beautiful drawings and paintings of animals, and I saw a picture of a cat on her site that reminded me of someone we both know. Can you guess which picture on her site I like so much?

Be sure to bookmark or do that RSS feed thing so you can get a copy of my Easter Story. Kittens, cats, and even dogs like Smokey like holidays too, you know.

Valentine's Day Gifts for Cat Lovers

Happy New Year! I can’t believe it is a brand new year already. I’m no longer a kitten, now I’m a full grown cat! But, you can read all about my first year as a kitten (cute, adorable, fun-loving, and full of adventure) in my book, “The Life and Times of Mister.”

Now, Valentine’s Day is coming up. I wonder what I will get for my sweetie, Kala? Hmm…. I will have to muse on that one a while. In the meantime, I’ve been searching online for great gifts for cat lovers. Here is MISTER’S LIST OF GREAT GIFTS FOR CAT LOVERS.

1. CafePress: Here you will find mousepads, t-shirts, framed prints, and more…all with Mister and the Gang in high-quality printing. ALSO, we’ve just added to our list of things with my picture on them, a beautiful ceramic food dish for cats like me! And a larger dish for dogs, like Smokey.
Yup, dogs will like it too, because Smokey’s in the picture too. (Hey, we are fair-minded felines.)
2. Check out CatFancyGifts.com – I especially like their fancy socks! Hey, Socks would be a good name for a cat!
3. I’m not sure how I feel about this one, but check out the Crazy Cat Lady Action Figure, for sale on Amazon.
4. Speaking of Amazon, don’t forget you can buy my book (The Life and Times of Mister) there, and it makes a great gift. Here is the LINK.
5. Cats: The Musical (Commemorative Edition) is available on Amazon, used, for under 3 bucks! Wow, what a deal!
6. If you are looking for a fancy gift for a cat lover, check out this pretty kitten treat holder.
7. Valentine’s Day and Chocolate just seem to go together right? Well, add a cat and it’s the PURRfect gift. Check out this beautiful chocolate cat, even Kala’s a bit jealous, ahhh, just kidding.
8. Are you shopping for a man? Human men are hard to buy for…but I have a solution for you. A grrreat Valentine’s Day present for a guy would be these car floor mats. Check them out here on Amazon. I bet even Grandpa would like them (you know, Grandpa from my book). Don’t be put off by the peeping tom title. They are just tom cats and I can tell you, having known a few, they can be A-OK. They just need some good friends like the ones in my gang.

Well we’re almost done with my list….here are two more:
9. Check out this Cats in the Bedroom print on Etsy. It was drawn by the publisher of my book! Same lady who did the portrait of Mister and the Gang on the cover. Perhaps she’ll do a portrait of me again soon. Check back because she may do a coloring sheet for kids, a free download here on this blog.
10. And last but not least… how about a CAT! Yes, adopt a cat…and you might not even have to pay the shelter fee. check out this article at USA TODAY on a special program TOMORROW, January 24th, throughout the country, where Hills Science Diet is paying shelter fees and giving out free food.

Even if you are reading this after January 24th, consider adopting a shelter cat or dog, hey even a parrot (but do your research on that one). It is the best gift you could give anyone, even yourself! Find the perfect pet at your local animal shelter, Humane Society or online at petfinder.com.

Well, till next time, this is Mister, signing off.

Happy Valentine's Day, a little bit in advance.

---Your friend, Mister the Kitten...I mean, the CAT!
